DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR  

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Project Manager in the evaluation and selection of Data Warehouse and other tools and consultants
  • Develop together with IT programmers, the required data dictionaries (documentation) for AS400 applications
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the data warehouse with process owners, team members, and consultants
  • Design and implement infrastructure strategy including capacity planning and hardware platform selection
  • Design and maintain the Metadata repository that describes the data in the data warehouse
  • Develop and implement project plans to ensure successful deployment of the data warehouse
  • Desing and execute the data migration strategy including required legacy and third-party extracts
  • Evaluate and maintain database software and related documents and tools
  • Provide DBA funtionality as needed
  • Act as primary technical resource for Business Intelligence, Campaign Management, and other tools and applications
  • `Cross Train` and educate in tasks performed

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in a DBA role
  • Experience designing, deploying and supporting relational database environments
  • Experience with database optimization tools and methods, data modeling, data replication strategies and database conversions
  • Knowledge of RDBMS including DB2 and SQL Server

  • Timely management reporting on subscription activity and analysis of key business metrics

Requirements:

  • BA degree in statistics, economics or business related field
  • Experience in subscriber based reporting, preferably in telecommunications
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts and general business analysis is required
  • Advanced skills level for software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Access. Crystal Enterprise, Cognos Power Play, Impromptu, etc.)
  • Ability to build queries using Access or similar data extraction tools to facilitate reporting
  • Ability to handle several business projects (multi-task) at the same time
  • Strong people and communication skills (oral and written) and be able to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Self management skills are essential
